A couple weekends ago my little tribe and I got into the car and left on an adventure. With a four day weekend we knew we wanted to take advantage of that and get out of town for a few days. You know that feeling of just needing to get away? When you know your soul needs a vacation? That has been me. I have been craving adventures, and the thrill of exploring a new place. You can drive five hours and still be in beautiful Utah so we made that drive down to Southern Utah Saint George. The drive was a treat. Utah is so diverse. Mountains, farmland, desert, cities, etc. We drove through it all.
Finally, we got where we were going. A beautiful resort that has taken advantage of their beautiful red desert surroundings, it blends right in! And boy is it beautiful. The Inn At Entrada was kind enough to host our stay and we were welcomed to a beautiful two bedroom suite that was just about as big as our home – also decorated in gorgeous red tones, with a very desert-y vibe. Tahlya made herself right at home as Luis and I gawked at this gorgeous place. We literally had to take a few minutes to tour the entire place.
I’m not going to lie, I was pretty giddy about being there. I
am was a huge High School Musical fan (for those of you who didn’t know, they weren’t actually filmed in New Mexico, they were filmed in Utah!). Remember High School Musical 2? When the crew worked at a resort all summer? Maybe this pool will ring a bell for you?
YES! High School Musical 2 was filmed at The Inn At Entrada! The crew even stayed in the casitas while filming, I would have too. 100% better than a hotel room. (Can we pretend Zac Effron stayed in our casita while he was there? Please?)
Luis and I didn’t bring golfing gear, which is probably a good thing, I was channeling my inner Gabriella Montez all weekend, I probably would have sat down for a picnic on the course. It was so green, I was beyond tempted to run around it in my bare feet.
While we were there I was working on my focus of the solar plexus chakra and I can’t imagine a better place for my soul to have been healing. The sun beats down on you, reflecting into the beautiful red sand. The resort has this amazingly serene, zen vibe to it, we were constantly wandering around, soaking it all in. Yoga in our little backyard overlooking a pond was an experience I will never forget.
We left once to meet some friends for dinner and to play at a nearby park; and maybe it was because it was a quick stay, but I didn’t want to leave that beautiful paradise. We could have been there a whole week and not ran out of things to do – not to mention all the outdoor activities available in Saint George, I’m ready to go back and explore more already!
It’s so easy to oo and aww at the cities and towns in far off places that you hope to visit one day, but sometimes the most beautiful places you can go are only a short drive away.
