Over the fourth of July weekend my little family had our first official family vacation of the year. We road tripped out to Denver, Colorado to explore the mile high city & boy was it a treat.
Denver has become the hub for so many different events, concerts, etc not to mention the vast amount of activities available in & around the city so the possibility of you finding yourself there sometime in your life seems to be pretty large. No matter what you find yourself in the Mile High City for, I wanted to share a quick guideline on how to make the most out of your experience in the city, to set down a little foundation.
Denver is a great place whether you are traveling alone, w friends or w family, we came and went fairly quickly but it was easy to see upon arrival that the demographic within the city is not isolated, this is city with something for anyone! This always earns a city gold stars from me, I tuck them away as possibilities for different types of vacations.
So, without further ado let me give y’all some super solid Denver vacation foundations..
Where to stay: Hotel Monaco Denver
This hotel is right in the heart of downtown, leaving you within walking distance off many restaurants, shopping options, a mall, movie theater, etc. Not to mention it is pet friendly & the rooms are absolutely gorgeous and incredibly roomy.
Where to eat: Ace Eat Serve
Ace Eat Serve was one of the best restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. My husband kept raving & our little girl ate nearly all her food (huge portions for the kids meal y’all, I love it!) This bar like restaurant has gorgeous outside eating options & you can play pingpong on one of their mini tables while you wait for your food!
Where to eat: Stueben’s
Now we went from Ace right over the Stueben’s for dessert but I would love to go back for a full meal! Their dessert menu was to die for, including an espresso malt & the most dreamy lemon ice box cake, but just taking in a whiff of the restaurant and a peek of the menu, the food seems to be just as amazing!
What to do: Buy a Mile High Culture Pass
I am quickly learning how important it is to get city passes whenever you visit a major city. For a low price you are given a pass that gives you free or discounted admission into the cities most popular attractions. Denver’s pass includes a handful of museums, the Denver zoo & the butterfly pavilion among other things. My whole family recommends the butterfly pavilion the most! The interactive & educational environment makes for the coolest excursion for any age group!
Have you had the chance to visit the Mile High City? Let me know of any must stops/must do’s I may have missed!
